The challenge
Deliver uninterrupted production and registered dual labelling in one machine.
The customer needed to run either a single wrap-around label or two different labels supplied on separate reels. In the first mode, production could not stop for material changes. In the second, the logo label had to be centred precisely in relation to the ingredients label applied first.
The solution
Two coordinated heads around a compact intermittent rotary platform.
Star-wheel transport keeps every roll-on controlled between stations. The dual-head architecture can switch production automatically or apply two separate labels in precise register while maintaining rates of up to 110 containers per minute. Each labelling head incorporates automatic unwinding and rewinding systems to optimise performance at high speeds.
Replenishment while running
While one head is producing, the operator can replace and splice material on the other with the machine still running.
Two registered labels
The first head applies the ingredients label. The second detects it and applies the logo label in motion, centred precisely against the first.
Controlled rotary handling
The star wheel guides and positions each roll-on throughout the process for stability, repeatability and high-speed accuracy.
